Love Is Not…

Love is not

It does not ask
for permission
It does not arrive
It does not speak

Love is not

It does not wait
for your permission
It does not give
you the option
It does not take
a vote

Love is not

It does not care
if you agree
It does not speak
but for itself
It will not curtsy
to your applause

Love is not

It does not hide
from fear
It does not run
from fire
It does not shield
from rain
It does not shrink
from pain

Love is not

up for debate

It will not concede
to different fate
It will not buckle
under pressure
It will not implode
under heat

Love is not

something you can
something you can
something you can

Love makes itself

Love screams itself

Love forces your

Love demands your

Love is no

  1. O what, o excerpt candid shall I toss?
    As desire dies so quickly without its gloss;
So what, o speed then kinaesthetic ghost,
Move bodily, sense me, amongst thy Host.

Carcass emptied, body untouched, so tender,
Broken upon soul crash, nakedness rendered
Corpse-like, crying, fulsome, cowered in sleep
Where this sorrow loiters, creaking, steep

Like the slope of death I dream of sliding
When time, inconsolable, tires of hiding
Me in pretentious folds, with grimacing smile,
And bids farewell, memories of her in the discard pile.

    1. Love and science are my only religions. πŸ™‚ You may all be seated, and hug the person next to you. Donation baskets are now being passed around. In lieu of donating, please take a card with a constellation on it. Then go find it. Oh…and benedictions and all that. So say we all. Namaste.

Love just is and love is naturally the birth of humanity and love.

    1. Thank YOU, C, for your lovely comment! I’m so glad you like it. You should read its precursor “Love Is…” posted right before, plus a couple before that you missed. πŸ˜‰ I’ll be reading yours today, too.

      1. Namaste, Charlie. πŸ™‚ And just in case you aren’t familiar with the word, it means: “The light in me honors the light in you.” It’s my favorite greeting. ❀
